This is my last in the Cherokee series. It takes place in 1838 at the time of their trail of tears. The Cherokee people had been told this day was coming for over three years, but when it finally arrived, it was even worse than they had suspected it would be. First, they were rounded up like a heard of animals and forced marched to an encampment in Tennessee where they stayed until all the Cherokee bands would be brought together. The total number gathered was about 15000; losing over 4000 souls on this journey. After weeks in this encampment and during one of the worst winters in history, they were forced to go through Illinois before heading to Oklahoma. My story tells of the deviation they suffered along the way as well as the hardships once they arrived. My books are fiction; however, I have included many true facts in this book. I did not feel I could do justice to the suffering caused these people without including these facts.
